The Farm

Graswater is a agricultural and game farm in the quiet south eastern corner of Namibia, just north of the Velloorsdrif border post. The farm is located about 8 hours south of Windhoek, capital of Namibia and about 9 hours north of Cape Town. Here you can still let your spirit run free, forget about your cares and just enjoy the solitude of the great Namibian countryside for a while.

Graswater offers a variety of leisure options, including hunting, hiking, fishing and canoeing on the Orange River. We can accommodate up to 8 people in our well-furnished chalets, situated close to the farm house, in an oasis in the middle of the desert. Nothing beats a nice braai on Namibian hardwood, at the end of a long day in the sun.

The farm covers about 27000 hectares of wildly varying terrain. You will find grassy plateaus, rocky kopjes and kilometres of river frontage with superb quality soil for the planting of vegetables and fruit. Wintertime is hunting time and Graswater is renowned for the big Oryx and Kudu found in the area. In summer time, the river provides a cool sanctuary to the heat of the day.

The farm is ideally situated as a stop-over for travellers from South Africa, on their way into the Namibian mainland. Why struggle with the busy Noordoewer border post, if you can be the only one passing through the Velloorsdrif border post? Come stay with us. You will come back. Our guests always do.
